Product Description
Need to amp the volume on your device? The iFrogz Boost NearField Audio speaker is the simplest solution ever. Just put nearly any smartphone or digital media device on top of the Boost with the external speakers playing and the Boost magically amplifies the sound. It just works. No wires. No Bluetooth. No Synching. No problem. An auxiliary line-in jack is provided for devices without external speakers.
You're asking if the Boost has a hidden microphone to pull this off? Nope. The Boost uses patent pending NearFA technology that actually syncs the audio signal from inside your device before pumping it out the two high-quality 2W x 2RMS speakers. Your tunes are then boosted with room filling sound.
The Boost gives up to 15 hours of play time when powered by three AA batteries - or can be powered by a Micro USB cord (sold separately or use your existing). When on battery power, it can remain in Standby mode for up to 6 months.

By jkrash
Product is new. Works really great with iPhone, iPod Touch 4G, cell phone, etc. Purchased product and quickly learned that the Boost DOES NOT WORK WITH iPod Touch 3G or earlier. I was on phone over two days with iFrogz support and they confirmed WILL NOT WORK WITH 3G iPod Touch. Hope this helps someone as I wish I had this information before I purchased.

By David E. Knickmeyer
On page one the instruction book says 'Magically amplifies the sound from iPhoneTM, etc'
Yeah, it kinda does.
I popped3 AA batteries into it and turned it on. There are no wires. Picked a song on my iPhone (We Will Rock You, if you must know) and put the phone on top of the BOOST. Big time difference! Pretty good sound and much louder, better than the tiny, tinny speaker built in to the iPhone. Next up was the final movement of Saint-Seans Organ Symphony. Thunderous Bass? No. Good sound? Yes. Last iPhone test: Foggy Mountain Breakdown. (What?) Sounded great (and don't give me comments that say 'if it makes banjo music sound great it must be magic. Just don't).
Next up, my Kindle Fire. Phil Collins. Worked great.
Cordless phone? Not so much. But I can't figure out why I would want to do that anyway.
So, to sum up: for pop/rock/country music it works great. Very good for classical music, especially if you remember you are using a $30 device. Portable and fun. Seems to work with any device that plays music and has a built-in speaker. My 18 and 11 year-olds thought it very cool.
I am going to have fun with this.

By rsy
August 9th - UPDATE - Just received a replacement BOOST directly from iFrogz after they asked me to send the original unit directly back to them. Tested the new BOOST and it works beautifully! As other opinions have indicated, the unit does not have bass or treble controls so don't expect concert quality music from the unit but it works well and will definitely allow one to enjoy music better if not using ear buds for listening. I can't wait to utilize this BOOST during a conference call as I think this will definitely enhance and ease the use of a cell phone for that purpose.
July 31st - Update - I've contacted iFrogz directly and they immediately agreed to send me a new BOOST upon return of my unit which they admit appears to be defective. I will update my comment here upon receipt and testing of the new BOOST unit. Stay tuned !
July 28th - Just received the BOOST ! Great design and concept .... BUT .... I can only set volume at 25% or less on my iPhone or I receive a such severe vibration/rattling from the speakers that it makes lisening uncomfortable. Is this normal or do I have a defective BOOST unit ? I'm not sure so I've written iFrogz to get their feedback but at this point I will regetfully return this speaker even though I really love the concept and ease of use. I hope it is just a defective unit that I can exchange and is not the normal operation of the speaker system.
(by the way, I've tried it on both music and general radio news stations and I receive the same loud rattling/vibration/clipping)
