First of all, I'm comparing these with Sony xplods found at wall mart which on amazon only cost $2 more.
On a scale of 1-10 I'll rate the speakers on highs mids and bass.
Sony xplod
Highs- 6
Mids- 7
Bass- 9 (can hit really low and loud for it's size)
These pioneers
Highs - 9
Mids - 8
Bass - 4
The only thing bass about these is the bass, it can only play high bass drum frequencies (on Some Nights by Fun. It just rattles the whole time:(). But these speakers can play some decent actual bass notes such as Lynard Skynard.
My only advise is that these are meant to be used with a sub.

These speakers provide excellent audio quality. The mids and highs are crystal clear, with no discernible distortion at high volumes.

the speakers sound great and was easy to install only draw back is u will want to replace any or all other speakers in your vehicle
