I was on the fence about what to use for my main speakers. I was building a full Alpine system in my car, and was torn between these and the Type-R equivalent. I went with these mainly due to the price, and I was not disappointed. I'm powering these with the Alpine KTP PowerPack in-dash amplifier which I got at the same time, all professionally installed. There was a ridiculously positive difference between these and the stock speakers. Bass is good, but if you're looking for that really low sub-bass "piss off people at stoplights" sound, add a sub. The mids/highs are where these speakers truly shine. The highs aren't exactly Bose or Klipsch, but they sound great and retain their flavor at high SPLs. The best way I could describe their sound is "efficient." Mids are right where they should be, giving a very unobtrusive non-spiked feel to the music. I've pushed these things hard, and they easily take the punishment. If you want a quick drop-in speaker from a reputable brand that sounds amazing, this is what you're looking for.

Just bought these for my 07 Honda Element SC and I love them! I mounted the tweeters a little differently than most would, I bought extra A-pillar clips from Honda and removed the A-pillar, cut out the perforated grille thing (isn't actually perforated as much as it looks) and put them in the opening with the lock-ring that comes with, so I didn't use those mounting brackets. And the 6.5"s are just great! I use Type R 6.5's in the back doors but I got these since I didn't want to upgrade my amp as well, and they sound amazing. No distortion at all, I'm so impressed with the quality of sound for some component speakers that cost so little, but hey it's Alpine! Constantly blowing my mind. The only complaint I have is that the screws for mounting the woofers aren't long enough, it would be nice of Alpine to send different lengths of screws! But it cost me 98cents at Lowes to get some more so it's not a big deal.

I love how they sound. Decent lows, but will need a Sub for real good thump. my setup includes a pair of these 610C's, a pair of 610 coaxials & a bazooka sub, with an alpine F300 amp. If you need good loud sound but dont want to turn deaf, these are for you. Cant get better than this for the price you pay. Alpine rocks.
