I started from stock to a Kenwood receiver. Then, Kenwood 6x8 in back (this is in 2 door sport, I think the 4 door explorer takes a different size?).
So, the combination of Kenwood deck, Kenwood rears and stock fronts: Yawn! There was no punch, scarce bass. I went back to dealer and he said the new decks are less power these days. Cr@p!
I have no space for subwoofer, I use the back of the explorer for other stuff. As a complete afterthought, I replace the stock front speakers because one of them is buzzing. I basically shopped price versus opinion here on Amazon. These Pyles made the most sense.
So now, Kenwood deck, Kenwood rear speakers, Pyle front speakers: WTF, it sounds great!!! $30 front speakers totally redeemed my system. The bass has arrived. It does not shake the windows but it's great all the way to stupid level.
Stupid level? Thats when you have your music so loud that people think you are stupid. Sorry, had to say it.
Bottom line: for what I paid for the pair of Kenwoods, I could have bought all 4 Pyles, and been happier when it was done. Buy these, you will not be disappointed. And, don't be stupid.

i bought these speakers for my ford ranger doors and they pack a mighty punch twice as good as factory and i pound them going down the road will totally buy again

I installed these speakers along with a Clarion head unit on my 2000 Ford Contour. Compared to the stock set-up these are a vast improvement in every facet of the speaker game. I would recommend these speakers to anyone seeking an affordable replacement to their stock set-up.
